What can I do if spam reaches my in-box?
You can send a copy of the spam to your Internet service provider's "abuse" desk. This lets the ISP know that a spam problem exists on its service. In addition, you can complain to the sender's ISP. Internet providers generally do not like companies and individuals abusing their service.
You might also tell the Federal Trade Commission. The agency stores information on spam to pursue possible legal action against companies and individuals who send unfair or deceptive e-mail solicitations. Though they might not take action against spam that is merely unwanted, it might be worthwhile to send a copy of the e-mail to the FTC.
