Accidents and Insurance

Using skill, care, and common sense to avoid accidents is always the best policy. If an accident happens, there are some basic things to keep in mind that may help you to avoid unnecessary trouble.

This section is a guide to the major issues concerning accidents and insurance. The possibility that you will have an accident is one reason why insurance is so important. But most drivers would rather drive cross-country nonstop than attempt to decipher the mysteries of automobile insurance. Virtually every state has its own insurance regulations, yet not every state has mandatory insurance. As with every topic in this chapter, the law varies from place to place, so you should consult a lawyer if you need to understand the legal repercussions of any serious matter.
