What types of employers are regulated under the ADEA?

The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) covers public and private employers employing at least twenty employees. It also covers unions and employment agencies. Remember, however, that state or local laws prohibiting age discrimination may cover employers with fewer than twenty employees.
