Workers' Compensation

If a workplace injury causes death, is compensation provided to the worker's survivors?

Yes, death benefits generally are provided to the spouse until remarriage, and to the children until they reach the age of majority (usually eighteen). Death benefits consist of a burial allowance and a percentage of the deceased worker's weekly wage. There also may be a maximum cap on benefits receivable.
