Can an employee have a simplified employee pension plan (SEP) and an individual retirement account (IRA)?
Yes. The SEP can be an additional IRA for employees. The difference is that the employee (and perhaps the employer) makes the contributions to the IRA, while the employer alone makes them to the SEP.
