Are reverse mortgages available in my area?

Reverse mortgages can be obtained in all fifty states (although availability is limited in Texas), the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The most common products are the federally insured home equity conversion mortgage, or HECM, and the HomeKeeper Reverse Mortgage available through Fannie Mae. Other products include state-subsidized home repair plans, lender-insured plans, and reverse annuity mortgages.
