Abuse and Exploitation
My son and daughter-in-law live with me in my home. They are living rent free and give me no money for household bills or food. I feel like they are taking advantage of me. Can someone help me?
Yes. The situation you describe is surprisingly common. Over 75 percent of all abusers are family members. You can seek help from the adult protective services program in your area. Your community may have other programs that help victims of elder abuse. In addition, a legal services program for older or poor people may be able to help you.
