How is my complaint investigated?

The medical board will notify your doctor of the complaint and ask him or her to respond. When the board receives your doctor's response, it will decide whether to continue the investigation. If an investigation is needed, the board will look at your medical records (and others as deemed necessary) and interview witnesses.
