How can I find out the current real estate taxes on a home?

The seller should be willing to disclose the amount of property taxes paid on the home over the last few years. If not, you or your lawyer can obtain this information from the local tax collector's office. If a title commitment is issued in connection with the sale, the amount of taxes will also be disclosed on the commitment.
