Homeowner's Insurance

What isn't covered by a homeowner's insurance policy?

Most policies specifically exclude damage caused by floods and earthquakes, and some policies will exclude or limit theft in high-crime areas. This doesn't mean that you can't purchase insurance for these threats; it simply means that you must pay for riders on your policy. Homeowner's policies also provide little if any coverage for home businesses. If you're operating a home business, check with your agent to see whether your business is adequately protected.
