What are my rights regarding the view from my property?
Generally there is no absolute right to a view, air, or light, unless granted in writing by a law or subdivision rule. Such provisions are more common in coastal areas or other scenic-view locations. If a view is important to you or to the value of the property you are thinking of buying, be sure to investigate your legal rights to protect that view before closing the deal.
