Renting Residential Property

Renting Basics

Choosing a Tenant

How else can landlords evaluate prospective tenants?

They can hire companies that specialize in checking prospective tenants out. Landlords who only rent a few units may not possess all of the skills necessary to investigate prospects effectively. These companies charge a fee but earn it if they screen out undesirable tenants.

A check by a credit bureau will tell you about judgments against the tenant, bankruptcies, and slow payments to or adverse information from other creditors.
