About the Author
Steven Mitchell Sack is a nationally known attorney who devotes substantial time to labor problems and litigation avoidance. Since 1980, he has maintained a private law practice in New York City devoted primarily to representation in contract negotiations, disputes and litigation, and general labor, business and consumer law.
A prolific writer, Mr. Sack is the author of sixteen books on legal subjects. Since 1986, his advice on labor issues regularly appears in The Legal Brief column carried in NAPUs Printing Manager Magazine. He has also authored numerous articles in business publications which discuss many subjects including hiring and firing salespeople, antitrust issues, and avoiding age and sex discrimination problems.
In addition to conducting a private law practice, Mr. Sack serves as General Counsel for many trade associations, presides in commercial arbitrations as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, and has conducted corporate seminars for companies throughout the United States both in-house and with the American Management Association.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stony Brook University and a graduate of Boston College Law School, he is a member of the American Bar Association (Labor and Employment Division), New York County Lawyer's Association, New York State Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.
Mr. Sack's advice about company exposure to employment-related litigation has appeared nationally in such publications as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal Alert (published by the Research Institute of America), and many other business journals. He has appeared on hundreds of radio programs and national television including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Salley Jesse Rapheal Show and the Jenny Jones Show. Mr. Sack appears regularly on CNBC's Steals and Deals.
His most notable books in the consumer market include The Salesperson's Legal Guide (Prentice Hall, 1981), The Complete Legal Guide to Marriage, Divorce, Custody and Living, Together (McGraw-Hill, 19 87), The Employee Rights Handbook: Answers To Legal Questions From Interview to Pink Slip (Facts on File, Inc., 1991) and The Hiring & Firing Book: A Complete Legal Guide for Employers (Legal Strategies Inc., 1996).
Mr. Sack's new book The Lifetime Legal Guide is a main selection for the Book-of-the-Month Club.
Mr. Sack is president and CEO of Legal Strategies, Inc., an organization devoted to providing consumers throughout the United States with important legal information through books, seminars and special reports.
