REMEMBER THIS
- The decision of whether or not to divorce can be a blend of logic, intuition, and gut feeling. Before deciding to divorce, try to sort out: (1) is the problem transitory or permanent; (2) what steps could be taken to make the relationship better; and (3) when considering the impact of divorce on many areas of life and relationships, will you be better off staying married or getting divorced?
- After a man or woman divorces, it is common to take two or more years before a sense of inner equilibrium and stability to return. The sense of equilibrium and stability may return more quickly if the person has more external supports, including financial security, job satisfaction, and good friends.
