1606. Medical Evidence of Incapability

Acceptable medical evidence of a person's inability to handle benefit payments is a signed statement from a physician, psychologist or other qualified medical practitioner who is in a position to provide a meaningful opinion of the person's ability to manage his/her funds. The statement should be based on an examination within the last year and must contain the actual/original signature of the person who conducted the examination or a person authorized to sign such certifications.
