Legal Dictionary: Animal Bites -- Plaintiff

A person bitten by an animal may have a legal right to recover damages from the animal's owner or another responsible party. In many states, even if the animal's owner had no reason to know of the animal's dangerousness, the owner is still liable if the animal bites someone.
